What kinds of steel structures are there?

In the industry, steel structures can usually be divided into five categories: light steel structures, high-rise steel structures, residential steel structures, spatial steel structures and bridge steel structures.

1. Light steel structureIt is mainly used in load-bearing buildings that do not bear large loads. It is supported by light H-shaped steel as portal steel frame, cold-formed C-shaped or Z-shaped thin-walled steel as wall beam, and profiled steel plate as roof or enclosure structure. It has the characteristics of earthquake resistance, wind resistance, durability, heat preservation and sound insulation.

2. High-rise steel structureGenerally speaking, it refers to a structural system with six floors or more than 30 meters, which is connected or welded by section steel and steel plates, and is widely used in modern high-rise and super-high-rise steel structures.

3. Residential steel structureIt is a new building structure system, which connects steel members with H-shaped, Z-shaped and U-shaped cross sections, forms the main frame of the house through fixing, and then forms a complete building system by using plates as roofs and walls, and matching with doors and windows. It has the characteristics of low cost, light weight, beautiful appearance and short construction period.

4. Spatial steel structureGenerally speaking, it refers to long-span steel structure buildings, such as factories, gymnasiums, bus stations, railway stations, airports, etc. Bird's Nest is a typical representative of spatial steel structure, which has the characteristics of complexity and diversity.
